Wish List

I've had a million and one things to do this afternoon, and in typical Millie fashion I've managed to put off every single thing, getting totally distracted online with a whole host of beautiful baking and kitchen treats. I cannot wait to have a kitchen of my own to fill with a collection of cutesy, kitschy homewares! Here is a list of my favourite kitcheny bits I found whilst browsing - I can't wait to get my hands on them!

1. littala Blue Taika Plate (£28.00 - John Lewis): The striking blue of this plate would make it stand out in any kitchen. I love the owl design (I have a bit of a thing for owls...) and think this is so unusual. I'm not sure I could ever justify spending £28 on a plate, but even if I did I don't think I'd be eating off of this - I'd just look at it all day!

2. KitchenAid Artisan KSM150 Grape Stand Mixer (£386.10 - Debenhams): LOOK AT IT IT'S SO PRETTY! Ahem...I've wanted an Artisan K-Mix for as long as I can remember. As well as being so lovely to look at, it's an amazing piece of kit which would be an asset to any kitchen. However, they are preeeetty expensive and I can't see myself being able to afford one any time soon. I will get my hands on one one day though...and until then? A girl can dream...

3. Dalek Cake Mould (£16.99 - Lakeland): I am a self confessed Whovian, having religiously watched every episode of Doctor Who (well, New Who which started in 2006). I was so excited when Lakeland announced a collaboration with the show in celebration of the 50th anniversary this year, and I think this Dalek Cake Mould is my favourite item in the set. Check out the rest of the products though - they've got everything from cookie cutters to cake stands so its definitely worth a look if you're a massive nerd like me!

4. Magpie Porcelain Robin Mug (£6.75 - Debenhams): You can never drink too much tea, and as such can never have too many mugs! I mentioned earlier how much of a sucker I am for kitschey things, and the design on this mug is so cute I couldn't resist including it.

5. Village Wall Plate (£27.59 - Etsy): Etsy is great for unusual, handmade items and I can waste hours browsing through all the pretty things it has to offer. The colours on this plate stood out to me and I think the bunting design across the top is really cute! Again, its probably a little too expensive for everyday use, but if someone wanted to get me a gift or a treat I wouldn't say no...hint hint...

6. Square Ditsy Flower Baking Cases (£2.49 - Planet Bake): These stood out to me because I've never seen square cases before. You get 12 cases in a box, so I would probably only get them for a special occasion, if I was baking for a gift for instance, or perhaps a bake sale. I like things that are a little unusual and these would be a great talking point at an event!
